You found a secret page!

For me (Bobbi speaking), hanging out with my “kids” helps me with balance. And by kids, I mean the 4-legged friends that we have the pleasure to be owned by…

They are:

Isabeau

(VN* CH Blackwatch Ladyhawk at Play Haven, DD, CD, WRD, RN)

October 2004 -

Our (female) Newfoundland Dog who reminded me how much I love puppies (but not puppyhood). She is a beautiful, smart, warm-hearted friend.

*pending NCA approval

Phaerghus

(Blackwatch Play Haven's Prime)

June 2007 -

Our latest Newfoundland Dog (male) is such an amazing friend! He's grown into a very handsome dog. Phaerghus (or more commonly: Fergus) is living up to his name, which is Gaelic for "man of vigour". He has a great deal of stamina and LOVES to run and play.

The top picture is of him at 2 years of age. The bottom picture is of him at 3.75 years. We have no idea what caused him to change color. It has been a gradual change since May 2010. We've done all kinds of testing and consulted a wide range of vets... he has stumped the experts.

He won his class at the 2010 NCA National Specialty just before he started growing the white hair. Phaerghus is also only one 'major' from getting his AKC Championship. But we won't be working on that any more... unless his condition changes back.

What matters is that he is healthy and happy.

Phaerghus

And Zephyr, a (spayed female) Tortoise-shell Calico Cat who reminds me which is the superior species. She came to us as a wild cat the summer of 1995 and crossed the Rainbow Bridge May 14, 2011. For a tiny cat, she made a big impression.

Monte

VN CH Sunflowers Montego Bay Haven, CD, TDD, WRD, CGC

March 1995 to June 2006

Our first Newfoundland Dog was so photogenic that I just couldn’t resist using rolls and rolls of film on him. The majority of the images in our product line are because of Monte.

We miss Monte very much.

Phalcor

CH Fairytale Luckdragon of Play Haven, CD, DD, CGC

June 1999 to May 2009

Our (neutered male) Newfoundland Dog who has taught me that “no such thing as enough” attention is actually a good thing.

Phalcor is a gray colored Newf... in case you were wondering if it was just the picture. Gray is an acceptable color in the United States and eye color may be lighter so long as it doesn't affect expression. Phalcor has beautiful hazel eyes. I suppose I should have used a “groomed for show” picture, but he doesn't care and I thought it would be nice to show what some Newfs looks like normally.
